Pretty is a Present

From my friend, Carey....

Isn't this the most beautiful package? I didn't open it for 3 days because it was just so pretty to look at.
Thankyou, Carey! Love you!

Girls from the Hood

We all grew up together. Because of this, they are more than my neighbors, they are my family. From the time I was conscious of my existance, these women were a part of my life. I have known these ladies for over 30 years (closer to 40).

Moooooooo

On the way for a girls weekend at the cabin in Mentone. This sweet black cow's picture was taken in Collinsville. I always make time to stop and take pictures.

Best Seat in the House (Cyprus Inn)

My mother and I made the trip to Tuscaloosa. Though it was a business trip (consigning) I made certain to call Brock to see if he wanted to make a lunch date of it. He did. Our lunch place...The Cyprus Inn which sits right on the Warrior River. This was the view from our seats. Best view in the place I am convinced.

Heading to the Cyprus Inn? Might I recommend the apple salad and the prime rib served in their signature split rolls. It won't disappoint!

Cold Feet

It's sooo cold outside. I have to wonder, how to the ducks cope?
Now I know how the creator of "Duck Shoes" got his idea!

I spotted these tiny seed pods siloutted against a wall with great aging color and texture.

Ice Castles

It's cold outside. Really cold. Record breaking cold. It didn't get above freezing today.
I went on a roadtip with my parents to Huntsville, Alabama today to retrieve my brother's car at the airport there. He and my SIL went to the BCS National Championship Game in Pasedena.
I got these shots as we drove up the interstate. These huge icicles were seen just below Hunstville.

Wall Flower

Taken in an old building, the ivy found it's way through the windows and flurishes both outside and inside.

Miley

I have the crud. Me and the puppies stayed piled up on the couch in blankets and slept off and on. Benedryl does that to me. This is a picture of Miley in pure bliss. She does not allow an opportunity to slip by where she misses some cuddle/sleep time. How I love my puppies.

Christmas, Again

My brother and his entire family were sick on Christmas Day, so they didn't get to attend the celebration at my parents house. After over a week to recover, we followed the scene from a Christmas Story and met for lunch at Hunan Gardens, Afterwards we went back to my parens so that they could open their gifts. This is a picture from that day. It is my Dad (Poppy) holding his youngest grandchild, Mae. Mae loves her Poppy and the feeling is mutual.

Krispy Kreme

Big Daddy bought donuts from Krispy Kreme.
How I longed to indulge. But I didn't.
I did capture the donut stack picture before they were quickly devoured. Not by me. :(

Ringing in the New Year

My blogger friend Mari was involved with a blogging group that took a photo a day for the entire year. As a photographer, it's something I could do without thinking to much, becasue its something I am passionate about. Then, my friend "High Mae" walked into the Blogging light and suprised me with her own family blog as well as a photo blog (so proud of her, sniff, sniff) and then she began encouraging me to also do the photo a day.
How could I say no? So, Here we are. A photo a day.

This one is from ringing in the New Year with friends.
